Men's Soccer Falls to Late Eagle Rally

9/2/2017 8:57:00 PM

Box Score For most of the night, the Hamline men's soccer team carried the play to Northwestern. The Pipers had a 25-7 edge in total shots and a 12-6 advantage in corners. Ben Sorenson scored a first half goal and HU got a break with an own goal early in the second half but it wasn't enough as the Eagles rallied to score off a pair of goals off corner kicks in an 81 second span late in the second half to gain a 3-2 win at Reynolds Field.

The Pipers swarmed early. Sorenson scored unassisted 6:26 into the game and HU kept up the attack all half, finishing with a 15-2 edge in shots. UNW tied up early in the second half but the own goal gave HU a lead that looked secure ... until the Eagles busted free to sneak out the victory.

Hamline dropped to 1-1 on the season.

Adam King was omnipresent all night for Hamline, leading with eight total shots. Seif Elfatairy and Trevor Tallaksen kicked in three shots each for HU. Dean Isaacson had one save in goal.

HU returns to Paterson Field to host Northland on Tuesday, September 5. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
