See-Rockers Season High Helps MBB Past Concordia, 65-54

Box Score Dylan See-Rockers made his presence felt in a big way Monday as he scored a season high 22 points to lead Hamline's men's basketball team past Concordia, 65-54, in Moorhead. See-Rockers also had 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season as the Pipers went back over the .500 mark at 9-8 overall. Hamline, which has won of 4 its last six games, is 5-7 in MIAC play. 

Zach Smith hit 10 of 11 free throw attempts en route to a 16-point night while Isaac Brooks kicked in 10 points. Kalu Abosi tied his season high for rebounds with 10. Smith also helped out with seven boards.

It was a tight first half. HU broke away from a 4-4 tie with five consecutive points and never trailed again. Tight defenses kept the scoring down and HU went into halftime nursing a 28-24 lead.

Led in part by See-Rockers (15 of his points came in the second half), HU used another 5-0 run to stretch the lead to nine at 35-26. The lead later expanded to 16 points. The Pipers took advantage of the free throw line, connecting on 22 tosses in 33 attempts. HU's defense limited Concordia to just 34.4 percent shooting from the field (22-64).

Hamline returns home to Hutton Arena to host league leader St. John's (14-1, 10-0 MIAC, No. 6 in d3hoops.com Top 25 poll) Wednesday, January 24 at 7:00 p.m. The Pipers battled the Johnnies well in Collegeville, losing a 77-74 decision in December. SJU's game with Gustavus was postponed Monday due to weather conditions.
