Hamline's men's hockey team gave up two third period goals in a 5-3 loss to Augsburg Saturday at the MIAC Hockey Showcase in Blaine, Minn.
Tommy Hall,
Mitch McPherson and
Weiland Parrish tallied for HU in a game that does not count in the league standings.
Evan Robert kicked out 34 shots in goal to take the loss.
Hall (10) got HU off to a good start, ending a three way play with Parrish and
Brady Crabtree 12:11 into the game.
The Auggies crept ahead 2-1 but McPherson and Parrish retaliated 26 seconds apart to push HU ahead by a 3-2 margin. Augsburg tied the game before the end of the period and then scored twice in the third to gain the verdict.
Parrish, a freshman, had four shots on goal to lead Hamline's 29 shot attack.
Mitch Bentfield,
Brady Crabtree and Hall added three apiece.
One positive for Hamline:
Mitch Hall, who was injured in last year's MIAC Showcase and missed most of the 2017-18 season, returned tonight and played regular shifts.
Hamline gets back on the ice Sunday, October 28 against St. Olaf in Blaine. Game time is 3:00 p.m.
