The HU volleyball team finished on a high note, sweeping Macalester, 3-0, in their season finale in St. Paul Saturday. As has often been the case, it was a team effort up front with
Sydney Larson recording 11 kills and
Morgen Coleman adding nine and eight digs.
Madison Hurrle had nine to finish with a team leading 256. The Pipers were very efficient with 45 kills on the day as part of a very solid .275 kill percentage.
The win upped the Pipers' final overall record to 12-13 (2-9 in MIAC play), doubling the win total of a year ago for second year head coach
Maggie Meixl.
Megan Rubbelke had 33 assists to finish the season with a team leading 735. She also had 15 digs for her 10th double-double of the season for a team leading 236.
Gabby Robinson also reached double digits in digs with 10.
The Scots kept it tight in the opening set with HU pulling away late for a 25-22 win. The Pipers picked up steam in the middle set with a 25-12 win and finished it off with a 25-19 decision in the final set of the season.
