For the soccer team, her job was to stop the other team from scoring. In hockey, it's the other way around.
Dani Wright scored in overtime Tuesday to lift Hamline's women's hockey team to a 2-1 win at Wisconsin-Superior Tuesday. Wright, a junior, finished off a three way play with
Jordan Hansen and
Bre Simon at 1:20 of the extra session to lift Hamline to a 2-0 overall record with both victories by a single goal.Â
The Yellowjackets scored first, getting the only goal of the first period.
Leah Schwartzman evened matters in the second period, finishing off feeds by
Madison Kolbow and Hansen.Â
It stayed that way until Wright ended the evening at Wessman Arena.Â
Hamline outshot UWS, 43-28.
McKenna Hulslander batted away 27 shots to earn the win in goal for the Pipers.
