Luke Trudell is a consistent football player. For the fifth consecutive week, the senior linebacker recorded a dozen tackles in Hamline's 51-0 loss at St. John's Saturday. Trudell continues to lead the MIAC with 108 total stops -- eight more than last year's conference leading total of 100. He is the first Piper to pass the century mark since John Vandenberg had 100 and Patrick Page had 127 in 2012.
Zander Payne rushed for 44 yards to lead Hamline's offense.
Triston Thomas had a productive day as a kick returner with eight for 171 yards.
The Pipers (0-9, 0-7 MIAC) will close out the season Saturday, November 10 against Augsburg at Klas Field in what promises to be a gala event. In addition to being a rivalry game with possession of The Hammer on the line, Hamline will say goodbye to the seniors in a pre-game ceremony and welcome the newest members of the school's Hall of Fame at halftime.
