Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Scheuring Scores 22 For MBB at SJU

Ethan Scheuring continues to make a big impact in the MIAC. The senior recorded his sixth double digit scoring effort of the season with 22 points in the Pipers' 92-63 loss at St. John's Saturday. Scheuring leads all HU attackers with 15.6 points per game. His Saturday effort was his second best single game scoring output of the 2018-19 season. (He scored at Northwestern, Nov. 15.)

Connor Knutson (12 points) and Isaac Brooks (11) all reached double figures but the Pipers struggled in the field, shooting 39.3 percent. They did better at the free throw line, hitting 16 of 18 attempts.

SJU bolted to a 13-point first half lead only to see Hamline cut it to seven with 2:30 left. A late surge sent the Pipers to the locker room down 45-33. Thanks to three pointers by Knutson and Scheuring, the lead was pared to eight early in the second half. But that was as close as the Pipers could get the rest of the way.

Hamline is 4-4 overall, 2-2 in MIAC play. They have two games next week to wrap up the 2018 portion of the schedule. Macalester visits Hutton Arena on Wednesday, December 12 for a 7:00 p.m. game. Wisconsin-River Falls is the guest on Saturday, December 15. That game begins at 3:00 p.m.
