The HU men's soccer team burst out of the gate quickly for three first half goals and that was enough to forge a 3-1 win over Pacific (Ore.) Sunday at Paterson Field.
Adam King was on the giving and receiving end of the first two goals as Hamline improved to 2-0 on the 2018 season.
Logan Weller garnered the third goal.
Dean Isaacson had another solid game in goal with six saves. The lone tally came on a penalty kick midway in the second half.
King (9) was first a playmaker. He sent a corner kick towards the Boxer net and
Stefan Kinsinger did the rest, heading the ball into the net with 6:34 gone in the game. 10 minutes later, King pounced on the rebound of a
Jack Reddan shot and drove it home to make it 2-0. The junior is second on the school's all-time assists list (14) and tied for third in career points (40).
Weller registered his first collegiate goal with 11 seconds left in the first session on a 20 footer from the right side. The freshman nearly added to his total in the second half when he ripped a shot off the crossbar.
At the other end, Isaacson improved his record to 2-0-0 with three saves in each half.
HU returns to Paterson on Thursday, Sept. 6 to face Northwestern (MN). Game time is 4:00 p.m.
