Hamline women's basketball guard Chan'el Anderson-Manning has wasted little time making a name for herself. The freshman tied a school record by going 7-for-7 from three point range as the Pipers pulled away from Carleton in the second half for a 75-61 victory Saturday at Hutton Arena. Reilly Geistfeld added to her league leading scoring numbers with 23 points for HU, which improved to 9-6 overall and 4-4 in the MIAC. HU is part of a five way logjam for fifth place in the MIAC.

The St. Paul, Minn. native equaled the feat of Carolyn Korchik, who went 7-for-7 in a 2004 game against St. Thomas. 

HU broke away from a 32-all halftime score to outscore the Knights, 29-14, in the third quarter and take control of the game. 

The opening 20 minutes had been tight with five scoring changes and four ties. 

Anderson-Manning changed that in the first 15 seconds of the third quarter, connecting on a three-pointer. It stayed close for six minutes. Then HU went on a 14-2 run to finish the quarter for a 61-46 lead after three and never looked back. Hamline shot 52 per cent from the field in the second half, including a torrid 8-for-9 from long distance. In addition to Geistefld and Anderson-Manning's offensive exploits, Kaeli Stayer contributed 16 points and five assists. Geistfeld was the top rebounder on the day with nine and Anderson-Manning added five. 

The Pipers have a couple of road games next week. HU plays at Augsburg on Wednesday, January 16 at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, January 19, they visit Bethel for a 1:00 p.m. game.
