Bailey Martin's third period power play goal provided the offense for the Piper men's hockey team in a 7-1 loss to Bethel in Blaine Friday night. The freshman center led the Pipers' 41 shot assault, finding the net for the second time in his last three games.
The Royals, however, jumped to a 2-0 first period lead and widened the gap with four second period tallies. Martin replied in the third period's first minute with his fifth of the season on feeds by
Austin Wisely and
Jake Cass.
Sam Nelson started in goal, played the 31:06 and took the loss.
Jackson Nelson made his HU debut and played 16 minutes in goal with
Evan Robert finishing up.
Hamline is now 2-16-2 overall, 2-8-1 in MIAC play. They will look to even the score with the Royals when the teams face off at TRIA Rink on Saturday, January 26. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
