Brooks Adds To Career Point Numbers Against Johnnies

Before Saturday's game with St. John's, Hamline senior forward Isaac Brooks (pictured with head coach Jim Hayes) was honored as the newest member in the school's 1,000 point club.

Once the game began, Brooks got busy adding to the career point totals. Brooks and sophomore guard Jake Larson scored 17 points each for HU in a 74-62 Hutton Arena setback. Ethan Scheuring added nine with a team high seven rebounds for the Pipers, now 9-10 overall and 6-8 in the MiAC. HU is tied with Concordia for sixth place in the conference -- the final playoff spot.

With the Pipers trailing 5-0, Brooks drained a three-pointer to pass his head coach for 11th place on the all-time HU list for Field Goals Made. The Pipers went stride for stride with the Johnnies in the opening 20 minutes of play. The margin never got above five points and the score was tied on five different occasions. Brooks and Larson made three three-pointers each. Larson also had four assists to up his team leading total to 63.
