The HU women's basketball team's four-game winning streak ended Saturday with a 67-46 loss at St. Thomas.
Reilly Geistfeld scored 18 points (including three-for-three from long distance) and added nine rebounds and three blocked shots but the Tommies outscored the Pipers, 35-22, in the second half to pull away to the win.
Defensively, Hamline clamped down on St. Thomas scorer Hannah Spaulding, holding her to 11 points.
Geistfeld, a junior, is now tied for the conference lead with an average of 17.1 points per game. She also leads the league with 47 free throws made.
Morgen Coleman added nine points and four rebounds for HU, which now sits 8-5 overall and 3-3 in MIAC play. The latter mark has HU tied with Concordia, St. Catherine and St. Mary's for fifth place in the conference.
Something will give in this regard on Wednesday, January 9 when the Pipers travel to Moorhead to face the Cobbers. Game time is 5:45 p.m.
