Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Browne Connects For W Soccer

Growing up in Renton, Washington, Anna Browne (pictured) had to get used to playing soccer in rainy, sometimes windy weather. On Friday, she discovered she can play in frozen rain as well. The freshman forward dodged snow pellets that occasionally descended upon Paterson Field to score her second goal of the season for the Hu women's soccer team in a 3-1 loss to St. Catherine.

Browne's tally came 9:26 into the fray and was set up by Carin Currier. It evened the score at 1-1. Unfortunately, SCU retaliated seven minutes and added a second half tally to freeze out the Pipers and take the decision. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, October 12 but was moved up a date due to the forecast of snow and rain for that day.

The Pipers took eight shots, with Ciara Gregory leading the way with four. At the other end of the field, HU goalie Lauren Sicora recorded nine saves to take over the MIAC lead in that department with 68.

HU fell to 4-8-0 overall, 1-6-0 in the MIAC. The Pipers will face \Wisconsin-Stout on Sunday, October 13 at Paterson in a 2:00 p.m. start. The game was originally slated for September but was postponed due to weather conditions.
