ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Hamline women's basketball team (4-1, 1-1 MIAC) started strong against Macalester (0-5, 0-2 MIAC), holding a 20-point lead after the first quarter and did not look back from there, going on to win 84-52 on the road.

The Pipers put up their best shooting percentages of the season in the game, connecting on 54.7% of their shots, while draining 40.9% from deep. Hamline also held a 26-11 advantage in points off turnovers and a 45-27 edge in rebounds.

Reilly Geistfeld put up a massive 25-point, 15-rebound performance for her second straight double-double. With the 25 points, Geistfeld surpassed 1,000 career points, becoming just the 12th to reach the milestone. Â
First year
Lydia Lecher was next in scoring, shooting an incredible 87.5% from the floor (7-8) to end with 15 points. Sophomore
Chan'el Anderson-Manning was the final Piper in double figures with 12 points, while also dishing out three assists.

The Pipers opened the game with a 14-0 scoring run in the first five minutes. HU would end the quarter with a 28-8 lead, scoring the most first quarter points of any game so far this season.

In the second quarter, the Scots outscored HU 18-14, but Hamline still entered halftime with a 16-point lead (42-26).

Hamline recaptured a 20-point lead three minutes into the third quarter, and would hold onto that lead for the majority of the rest of the game.

In the fourth, the Pipers once again had a strong start, scoring the first 18-points to lead by 40 (81-41) with 3:34 to play. The Scots ended the game with an 11-3 scoring run to make the final 84-52.

The 84 points was the most scored by Hamline since December 8, 2018 when the Pipers defeated Saint Benedict 87-58 and is one of six times that the Pipers have scored 80+ points in the past five seasons.

After playing their first five games on the road, HU will have their first home game on Wednesday, December 4, hosting Gustavus at 7:00 p.m.
