BLAINE, Minn. - Two third-period goals, including one in the last thirty seconds of the game, helped the No. 9 Hamline women's hockey team (5-3-1, 4-1 MIAC) defeat Bethel (3-5, 2-3 MIAC) on Friday night by a score of 2-1.

It was Bethel who would score first in the game, as Bailey Thompson scored on a power play at 5:19 in the second period. Despite taking 16 shots on goal in the first period and 10 shots in the second, the Pipers were held scoreless through the first two frames.

Overall HU held a 35-19 edge in shots on the night with junior
Madison Kolbow shooting a game-high of seven throughout the contest.

It took Hamline 15 minutes into the third period to tie it up, as senior
Jordan Hansen took a pass from sophomore
Molly Garin and found the back of the net. Hansen tallied her second goal of the season on the play.

It was first year
Sophie Rausch who would get the game-winner, finishing off a frenzy in front of the net in the final 30 seconds to propel the Pipers to victory. Rausch was assisted by Kolbow and Garin, and now has a team-leading six goals and 11 points on the year. With her two assists, Garin is tied with Rausch in points and has a team-high seven assists.

Sophomore
Jaela O'Brien earned the win in net for the Pipers, stopping 18 of the 19 shots that came her way. She has 101 saves on the season and improves to 2-2-1.

Hamline returns to their home ice tomorrow, hosting the series finale against Bethel at 2:00 p.m. at TRIA Rink. Â
