The Hamline softball team finished up their Arizona trip with a pair of setbacks Tuesday. HU lost to Huntington (WV), 4-2 and Buena Vista, 8-4, and will return to Minnesota with an 6-8 overall mark.
In the opener, HU trailed 2-0 in the sixth inning when
Delaney Kohler tripled home a run and scored onj a single by
Megan Rubbelke. Unfortunately, the Foresters responded with a pair of unearned runs in the top of the seventh to take the verdict.
In the nightcap, HU fell into a 4-0 hole in the first inning hut struck back with three third inning runs. Kohler singled home one and Rubbelke drove in two with a one bagger. The Pipers tied the game in the fifth when
Ramsey Hare singled.
Cora Stallcup replaced her at first and eventually rode home on Kohler's single. BV came right back with a run nin the bottom of the inning and three more in the sixth.
Hamline's next scheduled action is a doubleheader at Northwestern (Roseville) on March 28
