Like the March weather,
Devin Rodgers is warming up nicely. The junior outfielder rapped out three hits and stretched a current hitting streak to eight for the Piper baseball team, which dropped a 10-4 decision to Wesleyan (CT) Friday in Tucson, Arizona.
The hits for the game were even at nine for each team. But four HU errors and a four run Wesleyan eighth inning were too much to overcome. As a result, the Pipers dropped to 5-7 with one game remaining on their western trek.Â
The Pipers scored singletons in the fourth and sixth innings and added two more in the ninth. Rodgers, whose batting average has risen 234 points in the current skein to .325, knocked in two of those tallies.Â
