VB Moves To Double Digit Wins With Sweep of Lumberjills

The Hamline volleyball team wasted no time advancing to double digits for wins in the 2019 season. The Pipers came out swinging and stayed aggressive all night in a 3-0 win over Northland at Hutton Arena Friday night. The Pipers improved to 10-5 overall with the 25-8, 25-14, 25-16 decisions. 

Madison Hurrle hit .417 for the night and led the offensive surge with 14 kills.The junior is third in the MIAC at 3.45 Kills Per Set. Rachel Rettman (3) added eight and three blocks. Megan Rubbelke moved into fifth place all time in assists with 34. The junior, who also had four service aces against the Lumberjills, has 1667 helpers for her HU career. Her 9.98 Assists Per Set average this year is fifth in the loop. 

Maggie Gavic was tough on the back side with 18 digs with Morgen Coleman adding 11. 

The Pipers hit .323 for the night, making just 12 errors. 

Hamline is off until Wednesday, October 2 when they welcome Concordia to Hutton Arena. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
