ST. PETER, Minn. – The Hamline men's hockey team (3-13-4, 1-7-3 MIAC) fell to Gustavus (9-6-3, 5-2-2 MIAC) on the road on Friday night by a score of 7-1.
HU was the first to score in the game, with sophomore
Brandon Bissett getting his sixth goal of the year off passes from senior
Brady Crabtree and first year
Erik Dahl at 8:32 in the first period.
The Gusties answered quickly, tying it up in the next 30 seconds. They would score once more before the period ended to take a 2-1 lead into the first break.
The second period belonged to Gustavus, as they scored five times to give themselves a comfortable lead. Their first two goals were scored within the first four minutes, and towards the end of the period, the Gusties scored three times in a two-minute span.
Neither team was able to score in the third period, leaving the final at 7-1.
Seven different players fired multiple shots for Hamline, being led by Dahl's three shots on the night.

Sam Nelson getting the start and taking the loss. First year
Kevin Lake made 15 saves in the final period for HU, not allowing a goal in his 20 minutes played.
The Pipers will look to bounce back tomorrow, February 1, as they host the Gusties at TRIA Rink for a 7:00 p.m. game.
