MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Hamline men's swimming and diving team competed at the four-day MIAC Championships this past weekend, placing sixth out of eight teams with 236.5 points while also breaking three school records throughout the meet.

Gustavus Adolphus won the meet with 946 points. St. Thomas came in second with 739 points and Saint John's placed third with 493 points.

George Hubbard broke two school records in his first MIAC Championship meet, finishing the 100 Freestyle in 46.79 and the 200 Freestyle in 1:43.18, both of which are new school bests. These times were good for fourth and fifth place finishes, respectively.

Joe Joyce set the other school record, finishing the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 59.28, which put him in 10
th place. Joyce also placed in the 200 Breaststroke, taking 11
th with a time of 2:11.58. Junior
Andrew Hobar tied for 14
th in this event with a time of 2:15.87.

Isaac Hanson also put together an impressive meet for Hamline, taking fourth in the 100 Butterfly (51.18) and seventh in the 200 Butterfly (1:58.86). He also added a 15
th place finish in the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:01.02.

Nicholas Grivna was right behind Hanson in the 200 Butterfly, placing eighth (1:59.14), while also finishing 14
th in the 100 Butterfly (54.00). Sophomore
Quinn Doan also raced in the finals in the 200 Butterfly, taking 15
th with a time of 2:05.31.

In the 100 Backstroke, the Pipers had two place, with junior
Lee Roback taking 12
th (56.75) and first year
Bob Delage taking 16
th (59.19). Roback also placed in the 200 Backstroke, finishing 15
th with a time of 2:05.55.

Nathan Steeves took home a 13
th -place finish in the 1650 Freestyle, completing the race in 17:14.84.

Hamline had five relay teams that placed sixth or better throughout the meet. The 800 Freestyle Relay team of Grivna, Hanson, Steeves, and Hubbard took fifth with a time of 7:05.89 and the 200 Freestyle Relay team also added a fifth-place finish with a time of 1:30.34.
