ST. PAUL, Minn. - In the final game of the 2019-20 season, the Hamline men's basketball team (6-19, 4-16 MIAC) dropped a heartbreaker to Concordia Moorhead (3-21, 1-19 MIAC), as they had a last-second three roll in and out. The Cobbers cashed in on some late free throws, coming away with a 67-62 win.

Lucas Berg before the contest began, thanking him for his dedication to the program. Today was his 78
th career game for HU.

Michael Dillon carried most of the scoring load in today's game, as Siwek scored 19 and Dillon was right behind with 17. Dillon hit 50.0% of his shots on the day, as well as hitting four of seven (57.1%) from beyond the arc and dishing out six assists.

Andrew Jackson contributed seven points and Berg chipped in with six. Junior
Trey Prince added four assists and four steals for Hamline.

The first four minutes of play went back-and-forth, as the teams traded baskets. With 12 minutes left in the half, the Cobbers scored four in a row, giving them a 16-10 lead.Â

Just under the five-minute mark Concordia hit a three, putting them up by nine, and at 3:30 they would lead by 11 at 33-22. The Pipers answered, scoring the next five straight to get the game back within six. However, the Cobbers would take a nine-point edge into the break, leading 38-29.Â

HU shot 48.0% in the half, but Concordia connected on an impressive 65.4% of their shots.Â

Hamline got the second half started on the right foot, as Siwek scored a layup on the first possession. A little bit later they used a seven-point run to get the game within three at 43-40.

A 9-1 run for the Pipers gave them their first lead of the half, as a jumper from Siwek put them up 53-52. The Cobbers quickly retaliated with an and-one with 3:38 left. A clutch three from Dillon gave HU a 62-60 advantage with 1:10 left in the game, but Concordia answered with a three of their own to recapture the lead.

A Piper three within the last 10 seconds went in-and-out, forcing Hamline to foul. The Cobbers made two free-throws at the end to make the final 67-62.
Three Concordia players ended in double figures, being led by Bryden Urie who ended with 18.

The Pipers are expected to return 20 of their 21 players for next season, losing only Berg to graduation.
