SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University men's soccer team's final home contest of 2021 pitted them against Gustavus Adolphus on Tuesday afternoon. The Gusties cruised to a 4-1 decision over the Pipers.
Hamline falls to 2-11-3, 0-6-3 MIAC while Gustavus improves to 13-4, 7-2 MIAC.

Matt Gibbons wreaked havoc on the Pipers with a two-goal game for Gustavus Adolphus, which began with his tally in the 10th minute off a feed from Eithan Miller that made the score 1-0. Hamline knotted the game at 1-1 in the 33rd minute courtesy of defender Theo Salzberg, who lazered a shot that bounced off the post to the back of the net.
The Gusties sealed their victory with three unanswered goals in the second half courtesy of Finn Dowling in the 65th minute, Matt Gibbons in the 65th minute, and Jared Hecht in the 78th minute en route to a 4-1 victory.
Luke Rimington made seven saves in a complete-game effort in net for Hamline, while Gustavus's Wesley Sanders made three saves over 90:00 of work. The Gusties outshot Hamline 24-9 in the contest.
The Pipers will close their 2021 campaign on Saturday, October 30 at Concordia Moorhead. Game time is set for 12:30 p.m.
