Cobbers Defeat Pipers in 2021 Season Finale

MOORHEAD, MINN.—The Hamline University women's soccer team's 2021 season finale pitted them at Concordia Moorhead for a Saturday-afternoon showdown. Things weren't meant to be for the Pipers as the Cobbers jumped on them early, and locked a 4-1 victory.

The Pipers end their season with a 7-8-1, 3-7-1 MIAC record, while Concordia Moorhead concludes their campaign with a 5-12, 2-9 MIAC mark.

The Cobbers out shot Hamline 7-1 within the opening 30:00 of play, which was enough to get them a 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Lauren Tschider in the 10th minute, Sophia Robinson in the 21st minute, and Lindsey Hildebrand in the 30th minute.

The Pipers' final goal of the season came from Emily Hillis in the 67th minute to narrow the score to 3-1. Clara Rooney put the nail in the coffin for Concordia Moorhead with a goal in the 79th minute to make the score 4-1, where things stayed final.

The Cobbers out shot Hamline 15-3. Lauren SIcora tallied eight saves over 90:00 of action in net for Hamline, while Kaitlin Petrich stopped two shots for the Cobbers over 86:42 of playing time in net.

The Pipers bid farewell to fifth-year senior Hannah Schatz.
