Goalie Kevin Lake came through in a big way for the Pipers with 37 saves. He didn't receive offensive support until the game's mid-point when Bailey Sommers' goal at the 10:16 mark of the second gave Hamline a 1-0 lead, as Tyler Nyman and Joe Collins were credited with assists on the play. The Pipers made things 2-0 at 7:10 of the third period courtesy of Brandon Bissett's goal off a feed from Bronson Adams.
