ASHLAND, WIS.—The Hamline University men's hockey team made the three-hour trek to Ashland, Wisconsin to face Northland College on Saturday afternoon. The Pipers were victims of a 1-0 upset win by the Lumberjacks, behind a short-handed goal by Daniel Chartrand at 14:05 of the third period.
Hamline falls to 1-3 overall, while Northland improves to 2-2-1 on the season.

The Pipers' fifth power-play opportunity of the contest occurred at 12:32 of the third period via Jackson Breton's slashing penalty. Ryan Murray's blocked shot by Northland's Tristan Petrie shifted the momentum, as the Lumberjacks' Daniel Chartrand tallied a pair of shots before his third one in the scrum beat Hamline goalie Kevin Lake at 14:05 of the third to make the score 1-0 on the short-handed opportunity.
Hamline outshot Northland 29-26. Lake made 25 saves in net for the Pipers, while Northland goalie Viktor Wennberg tallied 29 saves in a complete-game effort.
Hamline will travel to Concordia (Minn.) on Tuesday, November 16 for a 7:00 p.m. game.
