MOORHEAD, MINN.—A rare Tuesday-night game was on tap for the Hamline University men's hockey team, who traveled to Concordia (Minn.) for a non-conference contest. The special teams were busy on both sides as each team committed eight penalties, which accumulated to 16 infractions for 43 minutes. Three-of-six Cobber goals occurred via special teams en route to a 6-2 decision over Hamline.
The Pipers fall to 1-4, while Concordia (Minn.) improves to 4-2-1.

Jackson Bond set the tone with his first goal of the season at 9:16 of the first period off an assist from Andrew Erwin and Brandon Bissett, which gave Hamline a 1-0 lead. This ignited a Cobbers squad that rattled six goals over the remainder of the first period and the entire second period, which included two power-play goals and one short-handed tally that made things 6-1 at 15:19 of the second. Cole O'Connell scored four goals for Concordia (Minn.).
Jeron Hirschfeld closed the game's scoring at 17:44 of the second period with a goal that cut Hamline's deficit to 6-2 off a feed from Bailey Sommers and Ryan Murray.
The Pipers came up empty in a third period that included a five-minute contact to the head call on Concordia's Kevin Ness at the 16:16 mark.
Kevin Lake played the first 40:00 in goal for Hamline, and made 19 saves before Maximillian Haselbacher stopped nine shots over the final 20:00. Matt Fitzgerald tallied 22 saves in a complete-game victory in net for the Cobbers, who out shot Hamline 34-24.
Hamline will host Finlandia on Tuesday, November 23 at 7:00 p.m.
