EAU CLAIRE, WIS.—The Hamline University women's hockey team made the one-hour trek to No. 3 UW-Eau Claire on Tuesday night. Hamline gave the Blugolds a run for their money as reigning MIAC Athlete of the Week Sophie Rausch gave her team a 2-1 lead with a goal at 5:32 of the second period. UW-Eau Claire responded with two unanswered goals en route to a 3-2 victory over the Pipers.
Hamline falls to 4-3, while UW-Eau Claire stays undefeated at 8-0.

Eight-of-11 penalties assessed in the contest were called on the Pipers.
Four-of-five goals in the contest occurred in the second period, where Hanna Zavoral set the tone with an unassisted tally at 1:55 of the frame that gave UW-Eau Claire a 1-0 edge. This ignited a Pipers unit that tallied two quick scores courtesy of Cheyenne Abear's power-play goal at 2:15, and Rausch's tally at 5:32 that gave her team a 2-1 edge.
UW-Eau Claire outshot Hamline 20-12 from that point forward, which resulted in a power play goal from Emily Hart at 17:11 of the second, and Drew Deanovich at 11:58 of the third that gave them a 3-2 lead.
The Blugolds outshot Hamline 36-28. Pipers goalie McKenna Hulslander made 33 saves over 58:19 of playing time, while Stephanie Martin stopped 26 shots in a complete-game win for UW-Eau Claire.
The Pipers will travel to St. Scholastica on Friday, December 3 at 7:00 p.m.
