SAINT JOSEPH, MINN.—The Hamline University women's basketball team hit the road for a Wednesday-night tilt at Saint Benedict. The Pipers defense prevailed, as they surrendered a .313 (15-of-48) field goal percentage in a 68-44 rout of the Bennies, their first loss of the season
Hamline pushed their win streak to four, and improved to 5-2, 4-1 MIAC, while St. Ben's fell to 6-1, 3-1 MIAC.

Outside of a brief 5-4 deficit, the Pipers either led or tied for the game's entirety. Hamline's defense didn't let their foot off the gas pedal as they saved their best for last. The Bennies registered just two field goals in the game's final frame, while the Pipers jumped to a 20-point cushion from the get-go and never surrendered it in a 68-44 victory.
Lydia Lecher paced Hamline with 12 points and three steals, while Tess Hauer followed with 11 points and six boards. Sophie Findell and Chan'el Anderson-Manning each tallied 10 points to round our the double-figure scorers. Anderson-Manning tallied a game-high eight boards, while Findell notched a game-best four assists.
The Pipers offense shot .471 (25-of-53) from the field.
Carla Meyer led St. Ben's with a game-high 16 points.
Hamline will host Concordia (Minn.) on Saturday, December 11 at 1:00 p.m.
