ST. PETER, Minn. - The Hamline women's tennis team (1-5, 0-3 MIAC) got back into conference play on Saturday, traveling to St. Peter to take on Gustavus (10-0, 3-0 MIAC) on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties, who are undefeated on the year, came away with a 9-0 win.

The Pipers played their best in doubles play, getting multiple games off their opponents in each match. First year
Elise Bierbaum and junior
Taylor Hopkins played in the No. 1 spot, falling to Ginger Valentine and Simona Potockova 8-2.

In the No. 2 doubles spot, first years
Taylor Vyskocil and
Lily Vang took four games off their opponents (Anna Stutz and Emily Norman), dropping the match 8-4. In the No. 3 slot, senior
Bae Wa and first year
Peyton Buerman matched their teammates effort in No. 2 doubles, taking four games off Hayley Trebil and Hannah Borgh.

Bierbaum was once again in the No. 1 singles spot for the Pipers, taking one game in the first set and two games in the second, conceding the match 6-1, 6-2. Vyskocil played at No. 2, picking up a game in the second set, but falling 6-0, 6-1. Hopkins had the same result in the No. 4 spot.

Jersi McAlpine was the final Piper to get a game off her Gustavus opponent, yielding 6-1, 6-0 in the match. Vang was in the No. 3 spot for HU and Buerman played at No. 4, each falling 6-0, 6-0.
