ROGERS, Minn. - The Hamline men's tennis team (1-5, 0-3 MIAC) took on UW-Superior on Saturday morning, falling 2-7 at Rogers Tennis Club. The match featured wins in No. 2 doubles and No. 4 singles, as well as a number of other close matches.
 
First year 
Isaac Hultberg was involved in both wins, getting his first singles victory at the collegiate level, with a 6-0, 7-6 (7-4) win over Lorenzo Silva. He joined first-year teammate 
Dominic Warzecha to win in the No. 2 doubles spot, defeating Anthony Michels and Jacob Zacharias 8-3. This was the first time that these two have paired up in doubles play, as well as the first collegiate doubles win for Warzecha.
 
Senior 
Nazeer Robinson and first year 
Sam Thompson played in the No. 1 doubles spot, conceding their match 8-5 and sophomores 
Sean Le and 
Allan Yang had a tight doubles match as well, falling 8-6 in the No. 3 slot.
 
Thompson took his opponent (Zacharias) to three sets in No. 3 singles, winning the first set 6-2, dropping the second 4-6 and the tie-breaker set 8-10. Le also had an incredibly close match at No. 5, taking the first set 6-3, before yielding the second set 3-6 and the tie-breaker set 12-14.
 
Yang was close to forcing a tie-breaker set in his match as well, taking five games off his opponent in the No. 6 spot, but ultimately falling 1-6, 5-7. Robinson played in the No. 1 spot, falling 4-6, 1-6 and Warzecha played at No. 2, losing 1-6, 1-6.
 
The Pipers will get back into their MIAC schedule next, taking on Gustavus on April 10 at 10:00 a.m.
