SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's soccer team's first MIAC contest of 2021 pitted them against Augsburg University at Pat Paterson Field on Tuesday afternoon. The Pipers netted all three of their goals within the opening 21 minutes en route to a 3-1 decision over Augsburg.
The Pipers move to 3-1, 1-0 MIAC on the season with Augsburg falls to 3-1-1, 0-1 MIAC.

The Pipers struck first in the fourth minute, when Anna Browne was in a scrum of players at the net and put a shot home to make the score 1-0. A penalty kick opportunity presented itself for the Pipers in the 12th minute due to a Augsburg handball in the box. Tylar Sayles converted her first goal of the season on the penalty kick to stretch Hamline's lead to 2-0.
The 21st minute resulted in a 3-0 Pipers lead when Anna Browne fired a shot that was saved by Auggies goalkeeper Iz Schuster before Cailey Schmitt grabbed the rebound and converted a goal.
Jennifer Bobaric narrowed the score to 3-1 with a goal for Augsburg in the 46th minute.
Augsburg outshot Hamline 30-12. Anna Browne paced the Pipers offense with four shots.
Lauren Sicora turned in a solid goalkeeping performance for Hamline with 13 saves in a complete-game effort, while Iz Schuster notched four saves over 90:00 for Augsburg.
The Pipers will face St. Olaf in Northfield, Minnesota on Saturday, September 18 at 3:30 p.m.
