The Blue Devils finished the game with an 11-5 advantage in shots, but it was Hamline who came through in the category that counts the most. Emily Hillis gave the Pipers a 1-0 lead in the 49th minute with a goal that ended up being the team's only shot on target, which came off a feed from Sydni Thompson. Hillis paced Hamline with two shots while Lana Mitchell, Ku Gay Tha, and Carin Currier each contributed one.
Lauren Sicora made two saves in 90:00 of work in net for Hamline, while her counterpart Haley Vokaty didn't record a save in a complete-game goalkeeping effort for the Blue Devils.
Hamline will return to action on Saturday, October 2, when they host Macalester at Pat Paterson Field at 3:30 p.m.
