SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's soccer team hosted Macalester College at Pat Paterson Field for their homecoming game on Saturday. The Pipers dropped a 1-0 (OT) decision in the rain.
The Pipers fall to 5-4, 1-3 MIAC while Macalester falls to 6-3-1, 2-3 MIAC.
Macalester 1, Hamline 0 (OT)
Both teams battled through a 0-0 score almost down to the wire until Macalester's Alice Bieda spoiled things for the Pipers with a goal in the 95th minute in overtime that gave her team a 1-0 victory. The Scots finished the contest with a 19-7 advantage in shots. Emily Holzman paced the Pipers with a pair of shots in the contest.
Lauren Sicora made four saves and allowed no goals over 88:00 of work for the Pipers, while her counterpart Dana Gustafson made five saves over 95:00 of work for Macalester.
The Pipers will host St. Catherine at Pat Paterson Field on Wednesday, October 6 at 4:00 p.m.
