SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's basketball team hosted their neighbor Macalester on Wednesday night at Hutton Arena. The Pipers jumped to their largest lead at 30-15 with 4:55 left in the second frame, which ignited a Scots team that closed the half on a 14-3 run and ran away with a 46-27 second half that locked them a 75-60 victory.
The Pipers fall to 9-3, 7-2 MIAC while Macalester improves to 7-6, 5-5 MIAC. The loss snaps Hamline's eight-game win streak.

Tess Hauer recorded a career-high 20 points off 7-of-10 shooting and 3-of-4 from beyond the arch, while Lydia Lecher rounded out the Pipers double figure scorers with 11 points. Hamline faced demons from the charity stripe, as they connected on just 10-of-26 in the contest.
Peyton Starks led the way for Macalester with a double-double that included 15 points and 14 rebounds. Emma LaFrenz also contributed a double-double with 14 points and 13 boards for the Scots, who shot .508 (31-of-61) against Hamline's .400 (22-of-55) mark.
The Pipers will travel to St. Catherine on Saturday, January 15 for a 1 p.m. game time.
