SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's basketball team made the short trek to St. Catherine for a Saturday-afternoon bout, where Tess Hauer notched her second-straight 20-point performance in a 74-64 victory for the Pipers.
Hamline improves to 10-3, 8-2 MIAC, while St. Catherine falls to 5-7, 4-5 MIAC.

Both teams struggled from the floor in the opening quarter, as they combined for a 7-of-33 (.212) shooting mark. The Pipers rebounded with an 11-of-19 (.579) mark in the second frame, where they took a 37-30 advantage at halftime behind Kate Van Helden's layup with 0:04 on the clock.
The Wildcats led for just 11 seconds in the third quarter, when Rachel Randleman's three-pointer gave them a brief 42-41 lead with 1:43 left in the frame. Hamline quickly regained the lead and never surrendered it in a 74-64 victory.
Hauer's 20-point performance included a 6-of-10 mark from the floor, and a perfect 7-of-7 figure at the charity stripe. Lydia Lecher added 16 points off four made three-pointers along with nine boards, followed by Michaela Stamer's 12 points off the bench. Sophie Findell contributed a game-high seven assists along with 11 points and six rebounds for the Pipers.
Bree Glynn led St. Catherine with 15 points, followed by Sam Orth's double-double 13 points and 12 boards.
Hamline will travel to Bethel on Wednesday, January 19 for a 7 p.m. game time.
