SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's basketball team made the short trek to Bethel University for a Wednesday-night bout. Both teams combined for 50 turnovers in the contest, but it was the Pipers who prevailed with a 55-49 decision over the Royals.
Hamline improves to 11-3, 9-2 MIAC, while Bethel falls to 9-6, 8-4 MIAC.
Hamline 55, Bethel 49
The Pipers welcomed back Chan'el Anderson-Manning, Alyssa Williamson, Sarah Loken, and Iyanna Wieland to the lineup as they each missed the last handful of games. They stabilized Hamline's bench, combining for 60 minutes of action in their first games back.
All 11 of the game's lead changes occurred in the first half, as Michaela Stamer closed the second-quarter scoring as she converted a three-point basket with 1:53 left that gave Hamline a 28-25 lead heading into intermission. The Pipers wouldn't trail again en route to a 55-49 victory.
Sophie Findell led Hamline with 16 points, four steals, and four assists. Gabby Robinson was effective with nine points and five boards, while Larisa O'Neil tied for a team-leading four steals.
Anna Garfield and Hayden Glander each led Bethel with 10 points apiece. Glander added 12 rebounds for a double-double.
The Pipers will travel to first-place Augsburg on Saturday, January 22 for a 1 p.m. game time.
