The Hamline University women's basketball team played host to the St. Mary's in MIAC action at Hutton Arena on Wednesday night. The Pipers registered a 67-52 victory over the Cardinals.
The Pipers improve to 12-4, 10-3 MIAC, while Saint Mary's falls to 4-13, 3-11 MIAC.

Hamline came out with a strong first quarter to start the game shooting over 60% from the field and 4-4 from three-point land. The Cardinals then used a good defensive second quarter to battle back from an early 12- point deficit to cut the Piper's lead to 32-28 at the break.Â
The Pipers then came out in the third quarter on fire again shooting 10-16, and 5-7 from three-point land outscoring the Cardinals 25-7 in the period and stretching the lead to 22 at 57-35 heading into the final frame. Riding a defense that held St. Mary's to just 28% from the field, they would cruise to a 67-52 victory.
Chan'el Anderson-Manning paced the Pipers with 14 points, while Lydia Lecher and Larisa O'Neil each added 12 points while Lydia Lecher grabbed a team-high five rebounds, and Tess Hauer followed close behind with 11 points.
For the Cardinals, Brooklyn Paulson led all scorers with 18 points.
The Pipers now look forward to traveling to Northfield for a matchup with St. Olaf on Saturday at 1 p.m.
