SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's hockey team hosted Saint Benedict in a rare Wednesday-night, non-conference showdown at TRIA Rink. Amanda Nylander's two goals dug Hamline from a 2-0 deficit and made the score 2-2 at 4:39 of the third period, but it was the Bennies who prevailed behind Ava Stinnett's power-play goal at 11:59 of the frame that gave them a 3-2 lead and eventual victory.
The Pipers fall to 7-6, while Saint Benedict improves to 6-7.

No scoring occurred in the first period before the Bennies set the tone with a 2-0 lead behind goals from Zoe Culshaw-Klein at 2:25 of the second period, and Brynn Sexauer at 14:29 of the frame. Nylander's first goal on the power play at 15:18 of the second was assisted by Jordan Hansen that made the score 2-1, while her second tally at 4:39 of the third period came from Morgan Wohlers and made the score 2-2.
Stinnett's power-play tally at 11:59 of the third period sealed a 3-2 victory for Saint Benedict.
Pipers goalie McKenna Hulslander made 25 saves, while Bennies netminder Kate Moffat stopped 24 shots. St. Ben's outshot Hamline 28-26. Both teams registered one power play goal.
Hamline will host Bethel at TRIA Rink on Friday, January 28 at 7 p.m.
