SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's hockey team hosted Bethel University at TRIA Rink on Friday. The Pipers exploded for a 7-0 victory over the Royals, as five players contributed goals.

It was almost a year to the day since Hamline last registered a seven-goal game, as they accomplished the feat on January 29, 2021 in a 7-0 decision over Concordia (Wis.). A whopping 12 penalties were assessed between the Royals and Pipers, as each side committed six.

Sydney Lemke got things rolling for Hamline, as her game-winning tally at 12:12 of the first period made things 1-0.

This ignited a four-goal second period behind tallies from
Emme Nelson at :44,
Sophie Rausch at 1:39,
Jordan Hansen at 9:01, and
Molly Garin at 16:04 to widen the margin to 5-0. Garin's second goal of the game on the power-play at 15:46 of the third extended Hamline's lead to 6-0, before Lemke's second goal of the game made the score 7-0 :09 later at 15:55.

McKenna Hulslander made 20 saves over 52:29 of play, before
Maddie Nickell played the final 7:31 and made no saves. Mallory Tidona stopped 29 shots in net for Bethel. The shots were 36-20 in favor of Hamline.
Hannah Dorsey tallied four assists in the game, while
Elizabeth Valley and
Nikki Olund each registered two.
