Royals Rebound With 2-1 Victory Over Pipers

BLAINE, MINN.—The Hamline University women's hockey team made the return trip to Bethel on the back-end of a home-and-home series on Saturday afternoon. The Pipers couldn't sustain momentum from their 7-0 shutout victory on Friday as they dropped a 2-1 decision to the Royals on Saturday.

The Pipers fall to 8-7, 7-3 MIAC, while Bethel improves to 6-7, 4-3 MIAC.

Bethel 2, Hamline 1

The Pipers held a 33-18 advantage in shots, but could only find the back of the net once courtesy of Michaela Arnold's second goal of the season at 4:15 of the third period that cut Bethel's lead in half at 2-1. Amanda Nylander and Rae Robert were credited assists on the play.

Hamline goalie Ava Bailey made 16 saves, while Mallory Tidona stopped 32 shots in net for Bethel.

The Pipers will travel to St. Olaf on Friday, February 4 for a 7 p.m. game time.
