The Auggies got the ball right back as Camdin Mathies-Carlson intercepted a Hamline pass at his team's 47, and returned it 23 yards to Hamline's 30. From there, it took them just three plays to punch it in thanks to Dominic Smith's 29-yard touchdown grab from Sheehan that pushed Augsburg's lead to 42-14 with 6:15 left.

Villanueva would close the game's scoring with a 50-yard touchdown run at the 5:14 mark, which narrowed Hamline's deficit to 42-21.
