EAU CLAIRE, WIS.—The Hamline University women's hockey team paid a visit to No. 9 UW-Eau Claire for a Tuesday-night non-conference bout. The Blugolds were too much for the Pipers, as they never surrendered the lead in a 4-2 victory.
Hamline falls to 4-4, while UW-Eau Claire improves to 6-3.

The Blugolds took a 2-0 first-period lead courtesy of goals from Hattie Verstegen at 11:38 of the frame, and Sydney Johnson at 17:10. It proved to be enough cushion as two-point outings from Verstegen, Johnson, and former Piper All-American Sophie Rausch helped seal a 4-2 victory. Verstegen registered a pair of goals for UW-Eau Claire, who held a slim 25-21 edge in shots.
The Pipers' first goal came from Annika Lindgren at 5:10 of the second period, which narrowed the score to 2-1. Morgan Wohlers cut the score in half to 4-2 at 16:20 of the third period for Hamline's second goal. Haley Eder-Zdechlik and Cheyenne Abear each picked up assists.
Olivia Rinzel made 21 saves in net for Hamline, while UW-Eau Claire's Stephanie Martin came through with 19 stops in the winning decision between the pipes.
The Pipers will host Concordia (Minn.) on Friday, December 2 at 7 p.m.
