MOORHEAD, MINN.—The Hamline University football team opened their two-game road stretch with a Saturday-afternoon bout at Concordia (Minn.). The Pipers suffered a 59-0 shutout loss to the Cobbers.
Hamline falls to 2-7, 0-7 MIAC, while Concordia improves to 5-4, 3-4 MIAC.

Cobbers running back PJ Mortenson's monstrous day doomed the Pipers, as he accumulated 119 yards rushing on 23 carries along with four touchdowns. Owen Miller paced the Concordia receiving corps with seven catches for 83 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He was the security blanket for Concordia quarterback Cooper Mattern, who finished 16-of-23 passing for 218 yards and three touchdowns. The trio engineered a Cobbers team that outgained Hamline by a 473-52 margin in total yards.
Zach Griebel posted a game-high 13 tackles for the Pipers defense, followed by 10 from Carson Reinard.
Hamline will conclude the 2022 season on Saturday, November 12, when they'll travel to St. Scholastica for a 1 p.m. game.
