SAINT PETER, MINN.—The Hamline University women's hockey team traveled to No. 6 Gustavus Adolphus for the backend of a home-and-home MIAC series on Saturday afternoon. The Pipers couldn't execute the upset sweep, as they dropped a 4-2 decision to the Gusties in game two.
Hamline falls to 12-8, 10-4 MIAC, while Gustavus Adolphus improves to 17-3-2, 11-1-2 MIAC.

The Gusties outshot Hamline 42-8. Two-of-eight shots found the back of the net courtesy of Amanda Nylander on the power-play at 1:16 of the second period that made things 1-1, followed by Molly Garin at 6:01 of the second that gave Hamline a brief 2-1 lead. The Gusties closed things with three unanswered goals, two in the second followed by a short-handed tally at 19:32 of the third to put the score at 4-2.
Pipers goalie McKenna Hulslander made 42 saves for the second-straight game, while her counterpart Katie McCoy made six saves for the Gusties. Nikki Olund and Cheyenne Abear each picked up an assist for Hamline.
The Pipers will travel to Concordia (Minn.) on Friday, February 18 for a 7 p.m. game.
