SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University men's hockey team's regular season finale pitted them against Concordia (Minn.) in a rare Sunday-night bout at TRIA Rink. Both teams skated to a 1-1 (OT) tie before the Cobbers won the shootout 1-0.
The Pipers close the regular season with a 4-17-4, 1-10-3 MIACÂ record, while the Cobbers end things with a 19-9-3, 10-4-2 MIAC mark. The No. 8 seed Pipers will host No. 9 Gustavus Adolphus in the 2021-22 MIAC Tournament First Round on Wednesday, February 23 at 7 p.m.
Hamline 1, Concordia (Minn.) 1 (OT)
Concordia outshot Hamline 40-28, and set the tone with a 1-0 lead at 16:19 of the second period behind Parker Simonson's tally. Jackson Bond knotted the game 1-1 with a goal assisted by Bronson Adams and Bailey Sommers at 3:40 of the third period.
Both teams came up empty in the 3-on-3 overtime session, before Tyler Bossert converted the shootout's lone goal for the Cobbers.
Pipers goalie Kevin Lake made 39 saves, while Jackson Nelson stopped 27 shots between the pipes for Concordia.
