SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's hockey team hosted St. Olaf at TRIA Rink in the backend of a home-and-home series on Saturday afternoon. The Pipers throttled the Oles by a 5-1 score.
The Pipers improve to 10-7, 9-3 MIAC, while St. Olaf falls to 7-14, 1-3 MIAC.

The Pipers were nearly flawless on the power play, as their 2-of-3 mark in the contest helped them cruise to a 3-0 lead. Nikki Olund set the tone with an even strength tally at 3:57 of the first, before power-play goals from Molly Garin at 10:25 of the first, and Sophie Rausch at 1:11 of the third period made things 3-0.
The Oles found the scoreboard soon after, courtesy of Grace Lankas at 2:39 of the third that narrowed their deficit to 3-1. Hamline put the nail in the coffin at 6:50 of the third period behind Cheyenne Abear's score, and Rausch's empty-netter at 18:32.
Rausch finished the game with two goals and one assist for a Hamline squad that outshot St. Olaf 36-25.
McKenna Hulslander made 24 saves in net for Hamline, while Grace Healey-Boswell stopped 31 shots on the other end for St. Olaf.
Hamline will host UW-Superior at TRIA Rink on Monday, February 7 at 3:30 p.m.
