Garin accomplished her hat trick within the opening 12:48 of the game to make the score 3-0. Hansen's assist on Garin's third goal of the game at 12:48 of the first period gave her 100 career points.

The tail-end of the second period saw the Yellowjackets find the scoreboard courtesy of Gaby Andreacchi at 18:50 of the frame to narrow their deficit to 3-1.

The third period resulted in five goals. The first two belonged to UW-Superior, as goals from Kailey Swerhun at 6:23, and Megan Dulong on the power play at 13:08 of the third knotted the game at 3-3.

It looked like things were heading into overtime, before a Hamline power-play opportunity gave them life at 15:05 of the third period. Momentum shifted in Hamline's direction thanks to Nikki Olund's power-play tally at 16:18 to make things 4-3, before empty-netters from Cheyenne Abear and Sophie Rausch within the final :30 sealed a 6-3 victory.

Abear contributed one goal and two assists for the Pipers, who outshot the Yellowjackets 43-26. Fourteen penalties were called in the contest.

Pipers goalie Ava Bailey made 23 saves, while McKenzie Whalen stopped 37 shots in net for Superior.

The Pipers will host first-place Gustavus Adolphus at TRIA Rink on Friday, February 11 at 7 p.m.
