NORTHFIELD, MINN.—The Hamline University women's basketball team made the 45-minute trek south to Northfield to face Carleton on Wednesday. Lydia Lecher came through with a season-high 24 points for the Pipers, who saw their win streak end at five games after a 67-60 loss to the Knights.
The Pipers fall to 16-5, 14-4 MIAC, while Carleton improves to 10-12, 9-10 MIAC. The Pipers sit in third place through Wednesday's game, a 1/2 game behind second-place Gustavus Adolphus.
Carleton 67, Hamline 60
The Knights kicked things off with a 9-0 run, and wouldn't trail throughout the contest. Aiana Whitfield paced Carleton with a game-high 20 points.
Lecher registered a 10-of-18 mark on the floor, which included a 4-of-7 figure from the three-point line for the Pipers. Iyanna Wieland notched 10 points off the bench for Hamline, while Tess Hauer just missed a double double with eight points and nine boards.
The Pipers will host St. Catherine for Senior Day on Saturday, February 12 at 1 p.m.
