MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.—The Hamline University women's lacrosse team's second contest of the 2022 campaign pitted them against Carroll (Wis.) in a neutral-site showdown at the University of Minnesota Dome on Saturday. The Pioneers were too much for Hamline as they cruised to a 15-4 victory.
Hamline falls to 0-2 on the season, while Carroll ups their record to 2-1.

It took a Pioneers 8-0 lead before the Pipers netted a goal as reigning MWLC Defensive Player of the Week Maitland Luksan scored her first-of-three goals in the contest with 4:15 left in the second quarter to cut things to 8-1. Luksan's second goal of the game occurred on the woman-up with 7:48 remaining in the third, which narrowed Hamline's deficit to 11-2 before they went into the fourth quarter down 12-2.
Maria Lewis registered the Pipers' other goal 0:36 into the fourth frame to make the score 12-3, before Luksan tallied her team's final score with 6:52 left in the game, which made things 14-4.
Taryn Leonard finished the game with two assists, along with a team-leading five caused turnovers and eight draw controls for the Pipers. Avery Wilson followed with four caused turnovers and a team-best five ground balls. Katrina Hardin led Carroll with six goals, while Clara Jelacic led their defense with seven caused turnovers. Hamline won the draw control battle 12-10.
Carroll outshot Hamline 27-15. Pipers goalie Justine Case made five saves, while her counterpart Alicia Van dale stopped six shots over 50:56 in net for the Pioneers.
Hamline will face Northwestern (Minn.) in a non-conference affair at the Augsburg Dome on Monday, March 14 at 1 p.m.
