SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University men's tennis team made the short trek down Snelling Avenue to Macalester for a Thursday-evening dual. The Pipers dropped an 8-1 decision to the Scots.
Hamline falls to 4-11, 1-5 MIAC, while Macalester improves to 9-5, 5-1 MIAC.
"Isaac had the best win of his career at No. 3 singles in a tiebreak," said Pipers head tennis coach Spencer Jones. "Several extremely competitive matches where the breaks didn't go our way. The team is improving greatly."
Macalester 8, Hamline 1
Isaac Hultberg came through with a 6-1, 2-6, 11-9 win at No. 3 singles. Nazeer Robinson dropped a heartbreaking 1-6, 6-2, 7-10 decision at the No. 1 spot.
The Pipers will host Saint Mary's (Minn.) on Sunday, April 24 at 1 p.m.
